DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION VS DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGINGNESS
RECITALS
The topic of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging is a complex topic and, although it is not a new topic within companies, it is still an unstructured area with unstable boundaries, but also for this reason it is rich, multidimensional and a harbinger of innovation.
For this reason, moments of direct comparison between HR professionals and DEI&B consultants are essential, capable of bringing out experiences, best practices, personal experiences within organizations, differences between different contexts and markets.

A THEMATIC TABLE WITHIN HR FORUM 2024
This is exactly what was discussed in November 21 in a Thematic Table – closed to the public – within the HR FORUM 2024.
With the coordination entrusted to Laura Ducci, Sales Director of Piazza Copernico, participated in the works: Camilla Butta , Sustainability, DE&I & Communication Manager / Vector, Luciana De Laurentiis, Head of Corporate Culture & Inclusion / Fastweb, Elizabeth Fazio, HR Manager / SAFE Group, Joseph Longo, Executive Vice President Group Human Resources / Cesi, Cecilia Mengoni, Human Resources Director / Felsineo, Olga Montesanto, Partner, COO & CHO / Huulke, Cristina Pizzuti, HR & Operations Manager / Fogsphere, Daniela Saccà, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and CSR Director / Collins Aerospace.
THE STARTING POINT
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) are essential to building an inclusive and representative work environment, ensuring fair treatment and the integration of people from diverse backgrounds.
However, today a further element must be added: Belonging (Belongingness). Belonging is about acceptance, connection with other team members, and authentic involvement within the organization.
Therefore, include Belonging in the DEI model, transforming it into DEI&B, is crucial to ensuring that every individual feels not only included, but also valued and an integral part of the corporate community.
THE DISCUSSION
We cannot know the details of the discussion table, which was "private" by nature, but it is interesting to describe at least the essential questions that the participants tried to answer, which provide us with some important topics for reflection:
- What are the key driver to successfully implement DEI and DEI&B policies in a corporate context?
- how can we measure effectiveness DEI initiatives in the short and long term? and how to measure the sense of belonging in the company?
- which tools and technologic innovations Can they help us with DEI and DEI&B practices today?
