THE DAWN OF THE "GREEN DIGITAL LEARNING PROJECT
The vocation of Piazza Copernico towards environmental commitment has been outlined since 2020, with the drafting of a Internal environmental impact mitigation code, which already included: the minimization of travel and the simultaneous adoption of online cooperation tools, the reduction of paper prints, the internal promotion of the conscious use of disposable products, the containment of consumption of electronic devices through the exclusive use of high-efficiency products and the habit of turning off at night all equipment that did not require a continuous cycle.
In the same year, the environmental certification was obtained 14001:2005.
Although these are not significant consumptions in the materiality matrix, between 2021 and 2022 separate waste collection will be activated internally, as well as the supply of company water bottles and the installation of a water dispenser.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
In 2023, to fpromote the use of means of transport with reduced environmental impact, we proceed with the installation in the courtyard of the office building of an electric charging station available to employees, and employee benefits are established for the purchase of eco-friendly cars for private use. At the same time, the gradual conversion of the company car fleet to electric or hybrid cars is also being started.
A new contract is activated with Enel Energia that provides for the use of energy coming exclusively from renewable sources.
We also proceed with the publication of the ESG Impact Report 2022, and an inventory management procedure is adopted GHG.
During the year the certificazione 14064 am - 1 pm which is also a commitment by the company to reduce emissions and adopt policies to contain and/or offset them.
The free supply of eco-friendly sanitary pads for female workers is also activated within the offices.
WHERE WE ARE NOW
The company has now become totally Plastic Free, and the company car fleet is entirely made up of electric or hybrid vehicles.
In this year 2024 the first one has been published Sustainability Report 2023.
We also proceeded with the installation and activation of photovoltaic panels for 10 kwp on the roof of the headquarters, for the production of renewable energy for self-consumption.
A voluntary Self-assessment process was also activated to evaluate the level of corporate sustainability, obtaining the highest score from SynESGy, international digital platform for the evaluation of ESG sustainability, it's a ESG+++ Rating with 53 points (Small Business category) from the company ABC Procurement & Cost Management.
THE AWARDS
This constant commitment has led us to be included in the list of finalists of the Green Economy Award 2024, selected among the 200 projects presented, in the Small Businesses category, for the area Environmental Sustainability.
