THE VIRTUOUS USE OF SEMANTICASE WITHIN SCHOOL TEACHING
THE TESTIMONY OF A TEACHER

To mark the end of this school year, we dedicate this space to the use of our software semantic case within the school curriculum.

topic model of novels by authors of early twentieth century literature, and the public presentation of the results that emerged

durante a conference held at CNr–IAC , collaboration with the institute IIS Salvini of Rome she didn't stop.

In addition to a training course aimed at teachers held during this school year, which allowed the application of the algorithms semantic case to literary texts in Italian, foreign and Latin, as well as history and science texts.

This training course was also recently presented during a series of promoted events by the AIF - Italian Association of Trainers.

We are very happy to publish the testimony of Prof. Maria Chiara Esposito, a teacher who attended the teacher training course, who wrote this article on the use in teaching of the results of the Semanticase analysis of stories J. Joyce.

The teaching activity developed at the end of the training course in collaboration with the CNR at the institute IIS Salvini of Rome aims to increase awareness of literary texts.

We worked on two songs by James Joyce da Dublin people.

In the first we find Eveline, who tries to physically escape but remains trapped in her Dublin life full of family sadness and dusty everyday life, while Jimmy from After the Race he tries to escape using his wealthy position and his circle of international friends.

The results obtained through semantic case (Piazza Copernico software developed in collaboration with the IAC-CNR) were used in class and compared with those found by the students, starting a critical reflection on modern and contemporary adolescents.

The teaching activity, carried out in the second quarter in the class 5F of the Azzarita scientific high school (IIS Salvini), involves four phases: brainstorming, reading of the passages, and analysis of the recurring words with comparison with the keyness table of semantic case.

At the end, the students filled out an anonymous, open-ended, multiple choice questionnaire on Google Forms.

It is noted that a clear majority sees contemporary young people as the carefree kids of After the Race: they tend to fall into vices, they are naive, impulsive, they enjoy themselves and often in doing so they remain stuck in their state.

If paralysis is present eveline, it is dictated by suffering from the pressures of virtual society, by loneliness, and by the desire to escape from social conventions.

The activity carried out demonstrates the importance of building a correct relationship with the applications, so as to allow the teacher to intercept one of the often undervalued characteristics of the profession: that of teacher researcher, Or the popular teacher and critic.
