RECITALS

The Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG extension) provide three levels of compliance:

  • A (minimum level)
  • AA (all Level A requirements plus additional criteria)

To meet Level AA compliance, the product must be usable and understandable by most people with or without disabilities.

Some notable requirements include color contrast, alternative text for images, keyboard accessibility and more.

  • AAA (all Levels A and AA requirements plus additional criteria).

This level obviously represents the highest standard of accessibility, and includes a more comprehensive set of criteria, such as a higher contrast ratio between text and background, interpretation in sign language for pre-recorded video content and other advanced requirements.

It is important to note that reaching the AAA level in the WCAG is equivalent to reaching the maximum accessibility standard and may not be feasible in all situations.

Il AA level is considered universally considered a satisfactory goal, that significantly improves accessibility.

AN ETHICAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT

For some years now we have been addressing the issue ofaccessibility in the design of ours digital applications for training.

When we design our courses the first concern is to provide a pleasant and useful experience for everyone who will benefit from it.

THEaccessibility for all it is therefore the basic requirement that is defined already in the planning phase of the digital training course.

Any new product developed by our production team aims to necessarily satisfy three requirements:

  • perceptibility,
  • usability,
  • comprehensibility.

We have within us a specialized accessibility team, which has received various recognitions also at an international level, obtaining prizes and publications of scientific articles.

THE OBJECTIVE OF A CATALOG OF ONLY (AT MINIMUM) ACCESSIBLE AA COURSES

We have been introducing for over a year already by default in all new releases of digital courses two requirements that facilitate accessibility for everyone:

  • SUBTITLING OF VIDEOS (also multilingual)
  • ADJUSTING THE SIZE OF THE SUBTITLING CHARACTERS

All new courses we produce fully meet the AA level, and we are working hard to quickly obtain a standard catalog in which all the courses will be accessible AA.

But we don't stop there.

When necessary, or upon request, we provide the possibility of including the TRANSLATION LIS, Italian sign language.

And we can provide courses AAA accessible ad hoc.

AN IMPORTANT TWENTY-YEAR CELEBRATION

Precisely on January 9, 2004, the Italian Parliament unanimously approved the "Tired law” on the accessibility of public administration websites. It was the first law of its kind in Europe.

Celebrating 20 years since this fundamental milestone on the path towards a more accessible world, means for us not to stop once we have achieved this goal of a fully accessible AA catalogue.

We live the situation every day Work in progress, because at the moment the public and internal debate on how to make our digital training applications increasingly accessible is constantly developing.
