An innovative professional training project dedicated to shopping center staff is coming to a close at the end of this year.

Both the store manager and the sales assistant are fundamental figures in the retail sector, and although their responsibilities vary based on the type of products, size of the store and whether or not it belongs to a chain, their skills are crucial in the entire management of processes and customer relations.

It is from this premise that Eurocommercial Properties Italia, one of the main European players in the shopping centre sector, came up with the idea of offering its Centres' staff the possibility (not the obligation) to enhance their training for these roles, increasing the skills needed to manage customers in an increasingly professional manner, and at the same time improving the shopping experience of the Centres' customers.

The project – currently activated in the Carosello, Il Castello and I Gigli centres where it is nearing its conclusion – was designed and delivered by Piazza Copernico with innovative methods, in order to facilitate the participation of professionals who typically do not have the possibility of committing themselves to a course for a long time and continuously.

So 100% digital delivery, access to courses via App, short courses (“training pills”), interactive videos, content focused on topics of personal and not just professional interest, many examples of daily working life.

Some of the courses have been tailor-made within the Carosello center, in order to immerse the training path in the real work environment.

All certified training that participants can include in their personal skillset.

A cutting-edge training program, which is receiving a good response and will probably be exported to many other shopping centers.

Viola Manzoni (Asset Manager Eurocommercial Italia) and Eraldo Colombo (Senior Partner Piazza Copernico) talked about it in an interview on Economy – N. 83 December 2024
